The City of Edmonton is making some improvements on 76 Avenue near the Mill Creek Ravine, including replacing the old bridge and culvert. We want to reassure you that Acme Meats and the Ritchie Market are open as usual throughout the construction.
Construction will start December 2025 and is expected to continue through fall 2026.
Getting to the Market
If you’re coming from the west via 99 Street, nothing changes, you’ll have your usual access.
For those coming from the east, the ravine crossing will be closed, so you’ll need to take a detour.
A simple way is to come west on Whyte Avenue, then turn onto 99 Street and down 76 Avenue into the market. Another option is 82 Avenue or Argyll Road to 99 Street, then 76 Avenue, or for locals familiar with the area, 75 Avenue westbound across 99 Street also works.
Whyte Ave → 99 St → 76 Ave (fastest & easiest)
82 Ave / Argyll Rd → 99 St → 76 Ave
75 Ave westbound → cross 99 St → Ritchie Market
Parking is unaffected, and all delivery and store operations will continue as normal.
Pedestrians and Cyclists
Some trails near the ravine may have temporary detours. If you’re walking or biking, the best routes are along Whyte Avenue or 81 Avenue to reconnect with 76 Avenue. Signs will guide everyone safely around the construction.
Even with the construction, you can still stop by for fresh meats, baked goods, coffee, and all your market favorites. We appreciate your patience during this project and your continued support for local businesses.
We’ll keep sharing updates as construction progresses, so you know the best way to get here and what to expect.
